Government Schools: Our Tax Dollars at Work?

  • Reading: The Impossible Just Takes a Little Longer
  • Weather: SUN!
John Stossel has a great piece on the disservice government schools are doing to the children who attend them and to our country. We know that the market produces excellence in other realms. Why are we so afraid to let it work in education?

BTW, my lack of enthusiasm for the government school system in no way diminishes my respect for the teachers who work there. They have to deal with ridculous regulation, layers of administration, and many kids who spend too much time playing video games. The majority are good teachers and would do better in a competitive system.
