Random Thankfulness

This was a great week. Since we moved to Fort Wayne almost four years ago the third week in January has been a highlight of of our year. The goings on at the seminary bring lots of friends and acquaintances to town, my house is overflowing with people (13 kids 10-19 one night), and no one gets enough sleep. It is great!

Monday night's bloggers' conference started off a whirlwind week. I actually put 212 miles on my car in one day and never left Fort Wayne! The highlights for me were the choral vespers and singing Behold a Host Arrayed in White, and all of the great time with friends.

I spent some time badgering both Pastor Fickel and Susan about starting blogs. They are both smart, interesting people who write really well. Maybe I need to sic the Aardvark on them.

Thursday night we were privileged to help celebrate our pastor's wife Jacqui's birthday and then to visit with some friends after the Sabre of Boldness Ceremony.

And then finally, this morning we went to matins and were able to sing the Te Deum with our friends before they took off for Wisconsin, Ohio, Texas....

All in all a most satisfying week. I didn't get to hear the two presenters that I wanted to, but I'll read the papers later.

'Twas great meeting you, Jane. Send me the names and edresses and consider them sicced. BTW, were all those miles yours, or did some belong to the kids?

Those miles were all mine, although there were kids in the car most of the time!

That's about 40% of my drive between Emma and Fort Wayne. And speaking of which, I'm really glad I put new tires on before Symposia — I hit really heavy rain in MO, followed by a bit of snow.

You sang Behold a Host at the Sem? Waaaahhhh!! I didn't know you were having a party Jane. Sorry I missed it.:-(

I wish you'd been here! Next year you'll have to come hang out, too.
